Discussion:
Indents for tasks have disappeared, how do see them again?

In Project 2003, indented tasks were showing. Now, they are not showing the
indent but maintain their relationship. I have no idea what setting was
changed to effect this.

I am pretty confident it is a system setting because when the project is
emailed and someone else opens it, the tasks show the indents.

Any ideas?

I am having the same problem. Did you ever get this fixed?
I looked the the box was/is checked but still no showing of the indents. I
will experiment and uncheck, check and also open a different file and work
with a new file to see what I get and let you know.
Thanks Jan,

Hi GHawkins,

Have you tried the solution offered by Jan? -- Tools > Options, view tab
make sure Indent Name is selected.

Is your project sorted with the option of "Keep Outline structure"
unchecked? Try Project > Sort > Sort By, choose ID and make sure Keep
Outline Structure is checked.

What version of MS Project (including service pack) are you using?

A quick Google search also turned up a person who had the problem
disappear by existing project, restarting his machine, and re-opening
the file.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie

I also think this is a video driver problem. I occasionally have the same
symptoms when I connect my laptop to a separate monitor. The solution is,
similar to below, to close Project, undock the laptop (i.e. disconnect the
monitor), restart Project, and then redock (i.e. reconnect to the monitor).
I eventually found the problem. The user was connected to a projector - from
the way it was described to me, MS Project uses the same video drivers as
projectors do (or something along those lines). I had the user close the
Project file, disconnect from the projector, reopen the file, and reconnect
to the projector. That seemed to fix it - and we can recreate the issue on
multiple machines.
